ลูกรัก เจ้าจักสำคัญความนี้เป็นไฉน ? (ตอนที่ ๑๔)

มหานรกขุมใหญ่สุดทั้ง ๘ ขุม เราท่านทั้งหลายได้ทำความรู้จักกันไปในเบื้องต้นแล้ว
ครานี้ลูกก็ลองมาทำความรู้จักนรกบริวารของมหาสัญชีวนรกบริวารขุมที่ ๖ นี้ชื่อว่า คีวลุญจนรก
คีวลุญจนรก หมายถึง นรกที่มีทัณฑกรรมทำให้คอหลุด
ภูมิลักษณะของคีวลุญจนรกขุมนี้ มีสภาพเป็นเตาไฟขนาดใหญ่ ด้านบนมีหม้อทองแดงที่ต้มน้ำกรดอยู่เต็มหม้อ
หม้อใบใหญ่นี้มีขนาดประมาณได้เท่ากับเรือบรรทุกเครื่องบินลงไปแล่นได้เป็นร้อยลำ
รอบๆ หม้อทองแดงมีนายนิรยบาลยืนล้อมอยู่โดยรอบหม้อ
รอบบริเวณหม้อทองแดงนั้นก็มีหมู่สัตว์ที่วิ่งหนีการไล่จับของนายนิรยบาลที่มีรูปร่างสูงใหญ่เท่าต้นตาล ร่างกายกำยำ แข็งแรง ริมฝีปากหนาใหญ่กว้าง ดวงตากลมโปนแดงฉานดังแสงไฟบรรลัยกัลป์ รูปใบหน้าเป็นสีเหลือง ดูทรงอำนาจน่ากลัวยิ่ง เส้นผมดกดำหยิกจนติดหนังหัว คิ้วและหนวดหนาน่าเกรงขาม มือ แขน ขา ล้วนใหญ่โตดูแข็งแรง
ส่งเสียงขู่คำรามว่า มึงอย่าหนี มึงอย่าหนี
เมื่อนายนิรยบาลจับสัตว์นรกมาได้แล้วก็ยื่นให้แก่นายนิรยบาลที่มีรูปร่างใหญ่โตยิ่งกว่า น่ากลัวมากกว่า รวบจับสองขาของสัตว์นรกนั้นด้วยมือข้างเดียว ห้อยหัวลงพื้นแล้วค่อยๆ จุ่มหัวสัตว์นรกนั้นๆ ลงไปในหม้อทองแดงที่มีน้ำกรดกำลังเดือดพล่าน ร้อนแรง
เมื่อหัวของสัตว์นรกนั้นสัมผัสกับน้ำกรดที่กำลังเดือด แรกๆ ก็ส่งเสียงร้องโหยหวนอย่างเจ็บปวดทรมาน
นายนิรยบาลก็ยังค่อยๆ จุ่มหัวสัตว์นรกลงในหม้อน้ำกรดจุ่มลึกได้แค่ไหน เส้นผม หนัง เนื้อ และกระดูก ก็หลุดละลายหายไปกับน้ำกรดแค่นั้น
เมื่อนายนิรยบาลจุ่มสัตว์นรกตนนั้นมาถึงคอ หัวและคอก็ละลายหายไปกับน้ำกรดที่เดือดพล่าน
แต่ชีวิตของสัตว์นรกนั้นก็หาได้ดับสิ้นใจตายลงไป ด้วยอำนาจอุปาทานในกรรมชั่วผิดบาป จิตจึงยังสถิตอยู่ในร่างกายที่ไร้หัวนั้น
ต่อมานายนิรยบาลจึงโยนร่างของสัตว์นรกที่ไร้หัวนั้นให้ฝูงแร้ง กานรก ที่มีปากคมกล้าดังใบมีดโกนจิกกินเนื้อหนัง เส้นเอ็น และพังผืดในร่างกายของสัตว์นรกนั้นจนชิ้นสุดท้ายแล้วเหลือแต่กระดูก
ต่อมามีลมชีวกรรมพัดมาต้องโครงกระดูกของสัตว์นรกนั้นก็พลิกฟื้นคืนชีวิตขึ้นมาใหม่ เป็นอยู่เช่นนี้ซ้ำๆ ไปจนกว่าจะหมดกรรมชั่วผิดบาป
ถามว่า แล้วบรรดาสัตว์เหล่านี้ที่ต้องมาเกิดในคีวลุญจนรกนี้ทำกรรมอะไรมา จึงต้องได้รับโทษทัณฑ์ ทุกข์ทรมานสุดแสนน่าเวทนาเช่นนี้
ตอบว่า ด้วยเพราะในอดีตบรรดาหมู่สัตว์นรกเหล่านี้ได้กระทำบาปอกุศล จิตใจโหดร้าย เห็นการทรมาน การค้า การล้างผลาญชีวิตสัตว์เป็นเรื่องสนุกสนาน เห็นการเจ็บ การตายของสัตว์เป็นเรื่องเพลิดเพลินเจริญใจ แม้มิได้ลงมือกระทำเอง ใช้ให้ผู้อื่นทำ หรือยินดีที่เห็นผู้อื่นทำ ก็ต้องมาเกิดชดใช้กรรมอยู่ที่คีวลุญจนรกขุมนี้
คาถาที่เอาไว้ป้องกันคีวลุญจนรกขุมนี้คือ
การเจริญเมตตา พรหมวิหาร
เชื่อกรรม เชื่อในกฎของกรรม เชื่อว่าทำดีต้องได้ดี ทำชั่วจักได้ชั่ว
เชื่อว่า สัตว์โลกเป็นไปตามกรรม กรรมย่อมจำแนกสัตว์ให้ดี ชั่ว เลว หยาบ
แผ่เมตตาเป็นนิจศีล
เท่านี้ก็ป้องกันเภทภัยจากคีวลุญจนรกขุมนี้ได้แล้ว

We have already learned about the eight largest hells.
Now, let us explore the sixth satellite hell surrounding the Sanjiva Hell, known as Kiwalunja Hell—where beings are punished by decapitation.
This hell features a colossal furnace crowned with a copper cauldron filled with boiling acid. The cauldron is as enormous as a hundred aircraft carriers. Hell wardens stand guard around it.
Among the cauldrons, a herd of hell creatures attempts to escape. They are tall, muscular, and powerful, with broad mouths and bulging red eyes that blaze like doomsday fire. Their skin is yellowish and emanates dreadful energy. Their thick, black, curly hair clings tightly to their scalps. Their eyebrows and beards are dense and terrifying. Their limbs are large and forceful.
One warden growls, “Don’t run! Don’t run!”
When a warden seizes a hell creature, he hands it off to an even larger, more fearsome warden. With one hand, the larger warden grabs the creature by its legs, suspends it upside down, and slowly dips its head into the boiling acid in the copper cauldron.
As soon as the creature’s head touches the acid, it lets out a howl of unbearable agony.
The warden continues to submerge the creature’s head deeper and deeper, until its hair, skin, flesh, and bones fully dissolve in the boiling acid.
When the acid reaches its neck, both head and neck are melted away.
Yet the creature’s life does not end. Due to its accumulated evil karma, its consciousness remains trapped within the headless body.
The wardens then throw the headless corpse to a flock of vultures, whose razor-sharp beaks tear apart its flesh, tendons, and organs, leaving only bones behind.
Afterward, a karmic wind blows across the skeleton, restoring the creature’s body. This cycle continues endlessly until its evil karma is entirely exhausted.
What kind of karma did these beings commit to be reborn in Kiwalunja Hell and endure such unbearable torment?
In the past, these beings were brutal. They derived pleasure from torturing, killing, or trading the lives of animals. Even if they did not carry out the deeds themselves-but ordered others to do so, or rejoiced in the suffering caused by others-they would still be reborn in Kiwalunja Hell to face the consequences of their actions.
The mantra for protection against rebirth in Kiwalunja Hell is this:
Cultivate loving-kindness, the first of the Four Sublime States of Mind.
Believe in karma-the law by which good deeds bring good results and evil deeds bring suffering.
Understand that all beings are shaped by their actions, and can be classified as virtuous, wicked, bad, or coarse.
Dwell in loving-kindness as a habit, and it will protect you from the suffering of this hell.
May you progress in your practice of the Dhamma.
