เราท่านทั้งหลายได้เดินทางมาถึงกาลแห่งความเสื่อมกันแล้วหรือ (ตอนที่ ๑๕)

คุณพระแว่นท่านได้ส่งความฝัน ๑๖ ข้อ ของพระเจ้าปเสนทิโกศลมาให้ได้อ่าน อ่านแล้วก็อดไม่ได้ที่จะนำมาใคร่ครวญดูว่ามีความฝันใดบ้างที่ตรงกับยุคปัจจุบัน
เราท่านทั้งหลายก็ลองมาตามดูและพิจารณาร่วมกันนะจ๊ะ
ความเดิมตอนที่แล้วจบลงตรงที่ องค์พระบรมศาสดาทรงตรัสอธิบายความนัยของพระสุบินนิมิต ข้อที่ ๑๔ ขององค์ราชาปเสนทิโกศลจนพระองค์เข้าพระทัยอย่างแจ่มชัดแล้ว จึงทรงตรัสเล่าพระสุบินนิมิตในข้อที่ ๑๕ สืบไป
ราชาปเสนทิโกศล ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ หม่อมฉันสุบินนิมิตเห็นฝูงพญาหงส์ทอง ที่มีขนสีทองต่างพาไปแวดล้อมทำตัวเป็นบริวารของหมู่กาที่ชั่วช้าที่พากันออกไปหากินตามบ้านเรือน ซึ่งมิใช้ปกตินิสัยของหมู่หงส์ทองเหล่านั้นเลย
พระสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้จักมีเหตุเภทภัยต่อชีวิตและราชบัลลังก์ของข้าพระองค์หรือไม่พระพุทธเจ้าข้า
องค์พระบรมศาสดาทรงมีพุทธฎีกาตรัสว่า
ดูกรมหาบพิตรพระสุบินนิมิตในข้อนี้หาได้มีเหตุเภทภัยต่อพระชนม์ชีพและราชบัลลังก์ของพระองค์ในกาลนี้ไม่ แต่จักเกิดขึ้นในกาลข้างหน้า เมื่อบ้านเมืองมีราชาที่เป็นพาล ไม่ฉลาดในศิลปวิทยา ไม่มีความเชี่ยวชาญในการศึก ไม่รอบรู้ยุทธวิธีและกลอุบายในการจัดทัพและจัดคนให้เหมาะสมต่อราชกิจ
มัวแต่จักคบค้าสมาคมกับพวกคนพาลด้วยกัน
พวกปราชญ์ราชบัณฑิต เมื่อไม่ได้รับความเกื้อกูลจากพระราชา การดำรงชีวิตจึงฝืดเคือง
ครั้นเหลียวดูพวกคนพาลที่ราชาไว้วางใจแล้ว ที่มีชีวิตอยู่ดีกินดี พวกนักปราชญ์ราชบัณฑิตทั้งหลายจึงพากันละทิ้งศิลปวิทยา วิชาการทั้งหลายที่พวกตนชำนาญ แล้วกลายเป็นคนพาล เพื่อหวังจักได้รับความเกื้อกูลจากพระราชา
บัณฑิตกลุ่มใดที่ไม่สามารถเข้าพึ่งองค์ราชาได้ ก็หันไปพึ่งพวกคนพาลที่เป็นบริวารของราชา
ดุจดังฝูงหงส์ที่ต้องหันไปเป็นบริวารของนกกาดังที่มหาบพิตรทรงสุบินนิมิตฉะนั้น
มหาบพิตรทรงสดับความนัยของพระสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้จนเข้าพระทัยกระจ่างชัดแล้ว ขอทรงตรัสเล่าสุบินนิมิตในข้อต่อไปด้วยเถิด
พระสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้สอนให้เราท่านทั้งหลายได้รู้ว่า หากมีศรัทธาตั้งมั่นอยู่กุศลคุณงามความดี
ศรัทธาตั้งมั่นอยู่ในหลักศีลธรรม อย่างมั่นคงแล้วไซร้
ต่อให้ชีวิตจักประสบเภทภัย ทุกข์ทรมาน อดอยาก แร้นแค้นเพียงใด ความเชื่อมั่นในกุศล คุณงามความดีและศีลธรรม ก็จักไม่มีวันเสื่อมคลาย จึงจักสามารถรักษาวงศ์วานของหงส์ทองได้อย่างยั่งยืน

We have arrived at an era of decline. (Part 15)

Khun Phra Waen sent me the sixteen dreams of King Pasenadi Kosala. After reading them, I could not help but ponder which dreams were relevant to the present era.
Let us follow and consider them together.
The previous episode ended when the Lord Buddha explained the meaning of King Pasenadi Kosala’s fourteenth dream until the King clearly understood it. Then, the King told the story of his fifteenth dream.
King Pasenadi Kosala: I dreamt of a flock of golden swans with golden feathers. All swans acted as followers of evil crows looking for food in the human houses, which was not the normal behavior of those golden swans.
Will this dream bring disaster to my life and my throne?
The Buddha explained to the King as follows:
This dream is not dangerous to Your Majesty’s life and throne. It will happen when the country has a foolish king who is unwise in arts and sciences, not skilled in warfare, unaware of tactics and tricks in organizing the army and appointing people to suit royal duties.
He only wants to associate with fools. When wise men and scholars do not receive help from the king, they live in difficulties.
The fools whom the king trusts live well and eat well. All the wise men and scholars abandon their arts and sciences and become fools, hoping to receive help from the king.
Any scholars who cannot rely on the king will turn to rely on the fools who are the king’s followers.
Just like the flock of swans became followers of the crows, as in Your Majesty’s dream.
Your Majesty, if you clearly understand the meaning of this dream, please tell me your next dream.
This dream teaches us that if we have faith firmly in goodness, virtue, and morality, no matter how much danger, suffering, hunger, or poverty life brings, our belief in goodness will not fade. This enables us to preserve the Golden Swan family.
