การรวมหัวของ 279 อาจารย์ที่ออกมาเรียกร้องให้ทางมหาวิทยาลัยหยุดสอบสวนการกระทำผิดทางวิชาการของอาจารย์ณัฐพลนั้น
ช่างเป็นความอุบาทว์ทางวิชาการเสียนี่กะไร!
กรรมการสอบสวนก็เหมือนศาล ถ้าเอาแต่พวกมากลากไปไม่เอาความถูกต้องอย่างนี้ประเทศชาติและสังคมจะอยู่กันอย่างไร?
ส่องกระจกดูพฤติกรรมเยี่ยงนี้แล้วยังมีหน้าเป็นครูบาอาจารย์ไปได้อีกหรือ?
ไม่แปลกดอกที่วงการวิชาการในปัจจุบันได้เสื่อมทรามถึงขีดสุดแล้วก็ว่าได้ เหตุก็เพราะไม่สามารถชี้ถูกผิดให้กับสังคมได้ แถมยังทำตัวเองให้เป็นปัญหาแทนที่จะเป็นทางออก

ความไม่ถูกต้องของวิทยานิพนธ์ระดับปริญญาเอกของณัฐพลนั้นน่าจะมีอยู่ที่วิธีวิทยาที่ใช้ คือ การตีความทางประวัติศาสตร์ โดยคำนึงถึงบริบทต่างๆที่แวดล้อมอยู่
ฟังดูแล้วดีแต่ไม่ได้เรื่อง นี่คือเหลาไม้ไฝ่กลายเป็นบ้องกัญชาเสียฉิบ แทนที่จะเป็นประโยชน์กลับกลายเป็นโทษ
เอาให้เข้าใจโดยง่าย การตีความของณัฐพล(จาก ตอบไชยันต์ ไชยพร เรื่องวิธีวิทยาทางประวัติศาสตร์) หมายถึงการเอาทัศนคติส่วนตนเข้าไปใช้กับ “หลักฐาน” ที่มีอยู่นั่นเอง
แต่ประเด็นที่ ศ.ดร.ไชยันต์ ได้ท้วงติงที่เป็นสาระสำคัญก็คือ
มีอะไรเป็น “หลักฐาน” ให้ตีความว่า บทบาทของสมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ กรมพระยาชัยนาถนเรนทร ใช้อำนาจในฐานะผู้สำเร็จราชการฯเข้ามายุ่งเกี่ยวกับการเมือง (เพื่อจะเป็นต้นเรื่องกระทบคราดไปถึงสถาบันที่อาจใช้อำนาจนั้นผ่านผู้สำเร็จราชการฯ)
ในเมื่อสิ่งที่อ้างอิงว่าเป็น “หลักฐาน” นั้นไม่มีอยู่จริง
หากเป็นเช่นนี้จริงผลลัพธ์ที่ได้ก็คือการ “กุ” เรื่องขึ้นมา ไม่ต่างจากที่ ทอน บูด มายด์ และอีกหลายคนได้กระทำในปัจจุบัน
ถ้าจะใช้วิธีวิทยาของณัฐพล วิทยานิพนธ์ก็ทำโดยบรรดาผู้ที่ไม่นิยมกษัตริย์ เช่น อาจารย์ที่ปรึกษา กรรมการสอบ หนังสือที่(เลือก)เอามาอ้างอิง เพื่อหวังให้สำนักพิมพ์ที่(จะเลือก)เอาไปตีพิมพ์
ดังนั้นจึงสามารถตีความโดยวิธีวิทยาของณัฐพลเองได้ไหมว่า ณัฐพลมีส่วนอย่างแข็งขันที่จะ “กุ” เรื่องเท็จให้กลายเป็นเรื่องจริง เพื่อหวังเป็นต้นทางให้พวกที่ไม่นิยมกษัตริย์เอาไปขยายความโจมตีต่อไปเป็นทอดๆ
เพราะแม้ในวิทยานิพนธ์จะแก้ไขไม่ได้แล้วแต่ในหนังสือที่นำเอาเนื้อหาวิทยานิพนธ์นี้มาใช้ตีพิมพ์เผยแพร่ก็ยังไม่ยอมตัดข้อความที่เป็น “เท็จ” เพราะไม่มีหลักฐานอ้างอิง
ศ.ดร.ไชยันต์ ได้เขียนเอาไว้ในเฟสบุ๊คตนเองว่า ในหน้า 60 ของหนังสือ “ขุนศึก ศักดินา พญาอินทรี” ณัฐพลและฟ้าเดียวกันได้ตัดข้อความที่กล่าวว่า
“กรมพระยาชัยนาทเรนทรทรงเป็นเพียงหนึ่งในคณะผู้สำเร็จราชการตามรัฐธรรมนูญฉบับ 2489 แต่ทรงลงนามพระนามประกาศใช้รัฐธรรมนูญฉบับ 2490 ที่เกิดจากการรัฐประหารแต่เพียงผู้เดียวอย่างรวดเร็ว” ที่เคยปรากฏอยู่ในวิทยานิพนธ์ออกไป
แต่ยังคงข้อความว่า “รัฐประหารครั้งนี้ไม่อาจสำเร็จได้หากปราศจากบทบาทของกรมขุนชัยนาทนเรนทร ผู้สำเร็จราชการฯ ซึ่งมีบทบาทในการรับรองการรัฐประหารอย่างแข็งขัน”
และยังคงอ้างข้อมูลหน้า 210 ของหนังสือ Brief Authority: Excursion of a Common Man in an Common World ของ Stanton อยู่ ซึ่งอย่างที่ชี้ให้เห็นไปแล้วว่า ในหน้า 210 ของหนังสือดังกล่าว ไม่มีข้อความใดเลยที่จะสื่อว่า กรมขุนชัยนาทนเรนทร ผู้สำเร็จราชการฯ มีบทบาทในการรับรองการรัฐประหารอย่างแข็งขัน
ทำไมตัดข้อความที่ไม่มีหลักฐานอยู่จริงอันหนึ่งออกได้ แต่ไม่ยอมตัดอีกอันหนึ่งทั้งที่ปราศจากหลักฐานอ้างอิงเช่นกันและเอามาตีความ อย่างนี้ไม่เรียกว่าจงใจ “กุ” เรื่องแล้วจะให้เรียกว่าอะไร ณัฐพล?

นึกไม่ถึงว่าวงการวิชาการจะมีเผด็จการทางความคิดดังเช่น 279 อาจารย์ที่ออกมาเรียกร้องให้มหาวิทยาลัยหยุดสอบสวนการกระทำผิด
นี่คือโฉมหน้ามาเฟียในวงการวิชาการไทยที่กล้าบิดเบือนผิดให้เป็นถูก ในนามของเสรีภาพทางวิชาการ
ความถูกต้องจึงไม่ขึ้นอยู่กับจำนวน เป็นอนาลิโก

อย่างน้อยยังมีอีกอาจารย์อย่างพวกผม 2 คนที่เห็นด้วยกับการกระทำเพื่อสังคมวิชาการที่ดีในครั้งนี้

Collusion of 279 lecturers requesting the university to stop investigating academic wrongdoing of Prof. Dr. Nattapol is such academic wickedness.
Investigative committee is the same as court. If they go with the crowd regardless of righteousness, how the country and society will be?
Looking in the mirror and seeing such behavior, can they continue to be teachers?
It is not surprising why academic society nowadays has degenerated to hit the bottom, because teachers cannot differentiate between right and wrong for the society. They are problems themselves, instead of being solutions.

Incorrectness of doctoral degree thesis of Nattapol probably resulted from his methodology, namely historical interpretation by considering contexts.
It sounds good but does not work. It is like sharpening bamboo to be a pipe for smoking marijuana. It turns something useful to harmful.
To make it easy to understand, interpretation of Nattapol (refer to “Answer to Chaiyan Chaiyaporn on Historical Methodology”) actually means including personal attitudes into existing “evidence”.
But the issue that Prof. Dr. Chaiyan Chaiyaporn has mainly argued against is…
What is the “evidence” for interpreting role of Prince Chainatnarentorn that he used power as regent to get involved in politics (to use this as a cause to criticize the monarchy of using power via regent)?
Because what was referred to as evidence does not exist.
As such, the outcome is “making up stories”, not different from what Thorn, Butr, Mind, and some others are doing now.
Methodology of Nattapol was thesis being reviewed by people in disfavor with monarchy including academic advisor, thesis committee, and (selected) referred publications. Then, the thesis would then be published by (selected) publisher.
Consequently, can it be assumed based on methodology of Nattapol that Nattapol enthusiastically took part in “making up” fake stories to be true stories?
Can it be assumed that he hoped to make the story as origin to be expanded and attacked again and again by the anti-monarchy group?
Although the thesis can no longer be edited but publications that published the content of this thesis have not agreed to delete those “false” content which does not have supporting evidence.
Prof. Dr. Chaiyan Chaiyaporn wrote on his Facebook that…On page 60 of the book “Military Chief, Feudalism, Majestic Eagle”, Nattapol and the Same Sky Journal deleted the following content which previously appeared in the thesis, “Prince Chainatnarentorn was just one of the regent group according to the Constitution
B.E. 2489, he was the only one who quickly signed to endorse the Constitution B.E. 2490 from coup d’etat.
But kept the following content in the book “This coup d’etat would not have been successful without the role of Prince Chainatnarentorn, as regent, who strongly endorsed the coup d’etat.”
And still referred to content on page 210 of the book “Brief Authority : Excursion of a Common Man in a Common World” written by Stanton. As stated earlier that page 210 of that book has no content which conveys that Prince Chainatnarentorn, as regent, played a key role in endorsing the coup d’etat.
Why did he delete one statement which did not have supporting evidence, but did not delete another which also did not have supporting evidence? Then, he interpreted that statement. Nattapol, if this is not intentional, how should we call it?

I never thought that there are dictators of ideas in the academic society like those 279 lecturers who have requested the university to stop investigating the wrongdoing.
This is mafia in Thailand’s academic society who dare to distort from wrong to right, under disguise of academic freedom.
Righteousness is not up to number. It is eternal truth.
Dr. Chaiyan, there are at least two lecturers like us, who agree to your good deed for the academic society this time.
Therefore, one Tamleung can bolster a thousand Chang!
