ขณะที่เรากำลังเจริญมนต์เย็นอยู่ จึงได้แจ้งกลับคนที่มาตามไปว่า ขอบคุณเจ้าหน้าที่พยาบาลที่เป็นห่วง ฉันไม่ประสงค์ที่จะไปนอนโรงพยาบาล อยู่ที่นี่ก็มีถังออกซิเจนใช้แล้ว อยากอยู่ใกล้ๆ กับเพื่อนแกนนำ ไม่อยากทิ้งพวกเขาไป

ครึ่งชั่วโมงต่อมา ขณะที่เจริญมนต์อยู่ เจ้าหน้าที่พยาบาลเวรก็ให้คนมาตามอีก

ฉันปฏิเสธไปอีก

เวลาต่อมาเพื่อนนักโทษมาแจ้งว่า พยาบาลเวรและเจ้าหน้าที่ ๔ มาขอพบ

ฉันนึกรำคาญเลยลุกขึ้นไปพบ เห็นพยาบาลและเจ้าหน้าที่ผู้คุม ๔ คน มาพบ พร้อมได้ยินพยาบาลเวรแจ้งว่า ท่านควรไปนอนโรงพยาบาล เพราะหมอเวรเมื่อเช้าวินิจฉัยโรคที่ท่านเป็นว่า ควรต้องอยู่ในความดูแลของหมออย่างใกล้ชิด หากเป็นอะไรไป พวกเขารับผิดชอบไม่ไหว

ฉันเห็นสีหน้า แววตาของพยาบาลเวรและเจ้าหน้าที่ที่มาทั้ง ๔ คน จึงได้รู้ว่า พวกเขารู้สึกกังวลต่อเราจริงๆ เลยยอมตามพวกเขาไปโรงพยาบาล

พอถึงโรงพยาบาล คุณหมอเวรโรงพยาบาลราชทัณฑ์ก็เข้ามาตรวจดูอาการ โดยมิต้องทำประวัติคนไข้ เพราะประวัติถูกส่งมาจากเรือนจำแล้ว

พยาบาลมาตรวจวัดความดัน ต่อมาคุณหมอเข้ามาพูดคุย หลังจากที่เขาได้ดูประวัติคนไข้ที่ส่งต่อมาจากเรือนจำแล้ว

หมอขอให้เข้าไปห้องเอกซเรย์ปอดดู เมื่อรู้ผล คุณหมอได้แจ้งว่า ปอดมีพังผืดเล็กน้อย ส่วนอาการหยุดหายใจ หมอแจ้งว่าน่าเป็นห่วง เพราะคุณพ่อของหมอก็เสียชีวิต เพราะอาการหยุดหายใจขณะหลับเช่นเดียวกัน

สรุป หมอแจ้งว่า ท่านควรต้องนอนที่โรงพยาบาล เพราะที่นี่เรามีเจ้าหน้าที่ หมอ พยาบาล ดูแลตลอด ๒๔ ชั่วโมง

อีกทั้งอุปกรณ์ช่วยชีวิตเราก็พร้อมกว่า สถานพยาบาลที่ราชทัณฑ์ และผู้ใหญ่ก็กำชับมาว่า ท่านต้องนอนที่โรงพยาบาล หากปล่อยให้กลับไป เจ้าหน้าที่เขาจะกังวล และถ้าท่านเป็นอะไรไป จะกลายเป็นประเด็นความวุ่นวายเกิดขึ้นในสังคม

ฉันจึงแจ้งแก่หมอว่า ไม่ใช่ฉันดื้อดึงดันอะไรดอกนะ แต่แค่เป็นห่วงบรรดาแกนนำทั้ง ๗ คน ที่เข้าคุกมาด้วยกัน หากฉันอยู่กับพวกเขา จะได้ช่วยกันให้กำลังใจกันและกัน

คุณหมอจึงกล่าวว่า แต่ตอนนี้ท่านต้องห่วงตัวเองก่อนเถอะครับ เพราะหากท่านเป็นอะไรไป แกนนำพวกนั้น เขาคงจะยิ่งลำบากใจมากกว่านี้

รวมความหลังจากถูกหมอกล่อมเป็นที่เรียบร้อย จึงเซ็นยอมรับการรักษา และถูกนำตัวขึ้นไปนอนที่ชั้น ๔ ซึ่งเป็นห้องอายุรกรรม…

Way of Brave Man (Chapter 6)

At 6 p.m. of the second night, a nursing staff told me to stay in the prison hospital. She said that drowning symptom while sleeping was life-threatening. So, I should be looked after closely by pulmonologist.

At that time, I was praying. So, I informed the staff that I appreciated her concern about me, but I did not want to stay at the hospital. I already got an oxygen tank there. I wanted to stay close to my fellow PDRC leaders and did not want to leave them.

Half an hour later while I was praying, another nursing staff came, but I refused again.

Later, a fellow prisoner informed me that nurses came with prison officers to see me.

I felt annoyed and woke up to meet them. I saw four of them. The nurse said that I should stay in the hospital, because the doctor had diagnosed in that morning that I should be taken care closely by doctor. If anything happened to me, they would not be able to take responsibility.

I saw their facial and eye expression and realized that they were really worried about me. So, I followed them to the hospital.

When I arrived at the hospital, the doctor of the prison hospital came to check my symptoms. My medical records had already been sent to the prison.

A nurse came to check my blood pressure. Then, the doctor came to talk after he had reviewed my medical records.

Then, the doctor told me to get a chest x-ray. After getting the result, the doctor said that my lung had few fibroses. My apnea symptom was worrisome because the doctor’s father had also died from obstructive sleep apnea.

In conclusion, the doctor said that I should stay in the hospital, because it had doctors and nurses on duty twenty-four hours.

The hospital was also more equipped with life-saving devices than that of the prison’s nursing room. Senior people reiterated that I must stay in the hospital. If I returned to the prison, the officials would be worried. If anything happened to me, it would become the issue and chaos in the society.

So, I informed the doctor I was not stubborn, but I was just worried about the seven fellow PDRC leaders coming into the prison together. If I stayed with them, I could give them morale support.

The doctor said that I should take care of myself first. If anything happened to me, those PDRC leaders, would feel even more difficult.

In sum, persuaded by the doctor, I signed my name to accept the treatment and was taken to an internal medicine room on the 4th floor.
