เสียงกระซิบจากวิญญาณในช่องอานม้า

ได้มีโอกาสนำเอาสิ่งของจำเป็นสำหรับการดำรงชีพ และการทำหน้าที่ของพี่น้องทหารกล้า ซึ่งก็มีทั้งทหารดำและทหารเขียวคอยตรึงกำลังยับยั้งไม่ให้เขมรมันรุกเข้ามายึดครองแผ่นดินไทย
พี่ๆ ทหารได้นำพุทธะอิสระขึ้นไปดูชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ของทหารหาญที่ต้องนอน นั่งอยู่ในหลุมบังเกอร์ ซึ่งทั้งอับ ทั้งชื้น และอันตรายสารพัดด้าน
คุณๆ ลองนึกภาพตามดูว่า ทหารไทยอยู่ที่ช่องอานม้า อันเป็นที่ต่ำ ทั้งที่ขณะที่มีการรบพุ่งเกิดขึ้น ทหารไทยสามารถยึดคืนช่องอานม้ากลับมาเป็นของไทยได้แล้ว
โดยก็แลกมาด้วย ๑ ชีวิต กับอีก ๑๓ คนเจ็บ
ขณะที่ทหารเขมรมันอยู่บนยอดภูเขาขนาบทั้ง ๒ ด้าน ก็ระดมยิงถล่มไม่ยั้ง
แต่ทหารไทยใจกล้าก็ไม่หลบ สามารถตีโต้กองกำลังทหารเขมรที่ซ่อนตัวอยู่ในช่องอานม้าจนถอยร่น ทหารไทยจึงสามารถยึดพื้นที่ได้
ต่อมารัฐบาลเพื่อไทยโดยนายภูมิธรรม ก็เข้าไปเจรจาตามคำเรียกร้องของเขมร แล้วกำหนดเส้นตายในการหยุดยิงภายในเวลาเที่ยงคืน
เมื่อถึงเวลาสี่ทุ่มของคืนนั้นกองกำลังเขมรที่ซุ่มอยู่บนยอดภูเขาทั้งสองข้าง ก็พยายามโจมตีทหารไทยที่อยู่ในช่องอานม้าจนสิบโท ต่อพงษ์ พันดวง สังกัดกองพันทหารราบที่ ๓ กรมทหารราบที่ ๑๖ ต้องพลีชีพ และมีทหารบาดเจ็บอีก ๑๓ นาย
เมื่อทหารไทยเห็นเพื่อนๆ ทหารต้องมาบาดเจ็บล้มตายต่อหน้า ทั้งที่หากยืดเวลาหยุดยิงออกไปอีกซักชั่วโมง สองชั่วโมง เครื่องบินรบของไทยก็สามารถเข้าโจมตีฐานของทหารเขมรบนยอดภูเขาได้ และพวกเราก็คงไม่ต้องมาบาดเจ็บมาตาย
เมื่อพวกเขาเห็นเพื่อนและพี่ต้องมาบาดเจ็บล้มตายจากไปด้วยเหตุปัจจัยที่เกิดจากการตัดสินใจผิดพลาดของรัฐบาล
ขวัญและกำลังใจของพวกเขาจึงถดถอย แล้วต่างก็พากันตัดพ้อรัฐบาลว่า พวกเขาทำผิดอะไร ทำไมรัฐบาลจึงได้ทำกับเขาเช่นนี้
หัวหน้ากองกำลังในพื้นที่เล็งเห็นแล้วว่า หากยังขืนตั้งรับอยู่ในช่องอานม้าที่พวกเขายึดได้ คงจักมีพี่น้องทหารของพวกเขาบาดเจ็บล้มตายเพิ่มมากขึ้นอีก
หัวหน้ากองกำลังในพื้นที่เขาจึงมีคำสั่งให้ถอยร่นออกมาจากช่องอานม้าประมาณ ๕๐๐ เมตร แล้วก็มาตั้งหลักประจันหน้ายันมิให้กองกำลังของเขมรเข้ามารุกล้ำเพิ่มอีก
สรุปขณะที่พุทธะอิสระเข้าไปเยี่ยมกองกำลังทหารในพื้นที่ก็ได้เห็นทหารเขมรเข้ามาควบคุมพื้นที่ของช่องอานม้าอยู่ แถมมันยังแอบมาถ่ายรูปพุทธะอิสระขณะที่ยืนแจกเงินให้แก่ทหารไทย
กลับมาถึงวัดจึงได้รีบเอาเสียงกระซิบจากวิญญาณในช่องอานม้ามาบอกกล่าวแก่คุณๆ ทั้งหลายให้ได้รับรู้ว่า ทหารกล้าของไทยเรา เสียสละมากขนาดไหน
แล้วพวกนักการเมืองไทยล่ะได้เสียสละอะไรบ้าง
อย่าว่าแต่จะเสียสละเลย ขณะที่นายภูมิธรรมเป็นรัฐมนตรีกระทรวงกลาโหมมันยังสั่งให้ทหารถอยออกมาจากแนวกันชน ด้วยข้ออ้างเพื่อลดการเผชิญหน้า ทำให้ประชาชนเขมร ลูกเมียทหารเขมร ก็รุกเข้ามาสร้างที่พัก สร้างร้านค้า ตามนโยบายของนายฮุนเซนที่ประกาศให้ทหารและประชาชนเขมร เข้ามาบุกรุกแผ่นดินไทย ตรงไหนได้ก็จะยกที่ดินตรงนั้นให้เลย
พวกเขมรมันถึงได้สามารถรุกเข้ามาสร้างบ้าน ร้านค้าประชิดติดที่อยู่ของทหารไทย จนเห็นภาพได้ทุกวันนี้ไง

Whispers from the Spirits in Chong An Ma

I delivered essential supplies for the daily needs and work of the brave black-and-green-clad soldiers holding the line to prevent Khmer incursions and the occupation of Thai territory.
The soldiers showed me their living conditions. These courageous men sleep in bunkers that are cramped, damp, and dangerous on all sides.
Can you imagine Thai soldiers stationed in Chong An Ma, a low-lying area?
During the fighting, Thai troops recaptured this area at the cost of one life and 13 injuries while Khmer soldiers fired relentlessly from both mountaintops. The brave Thai soldiers held their ground, counterattacked the Khmer forces hiding in Chong An Ma, and forced them to retreat, allowing the area to be retaken.
Later, the Pheu Thai government, led by Mr. Bhumtham, negotiated with Cambodia and set a ceasefire at midnight. At 10:00 p.m. that night, Khmer forces hidden on the surrounding mountaintops launched an attack on Thai soldiers in Chong An Ma. This assault killed Corporal Torpong Phanduang of the 3rd Infantry Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, and wounded 13 others.
The Thai soldiers saw their comrades injured and killed before their eyes. They knew that if the ceasefire had been delayed by just an hour or two, Thai warplanes could have struck the Khmer base on the mountaintop, and these casualties might have been avoided. Witnessing deaths caused by what they believed to be erroneous government decisions devastated their morale, and they bitterly lamented those decisions of the government.
The local commander realized that if the troops continued holding Chong An Ma, casualties would only rise. He therefore ordered a withdrawal of roughly 500 meters from the Ao An Ma area to establish a defensive line and prevent further Khmer advances.
In short, while Buddha Issara (I) was visiting the local forces, I saw Cambodian soldiers taking control of Chong An Ma. One of them even secretly photographed me as I was distributing money to Thai soldiers.
Upon returning to the temple, I immediately relayed these “whispers from the spirits” of Chong An Ma to all of you, to show the immense sacrifices of our brave Thai soldiers.
And what sacrifices have Thai politicians made?
Not only have they failed to sacrifice, but when Mr. Bhumtham was Minister of Defense, he even ordered the soldiers to retreat from the buffer zone, citing the pretext of reducing confrontation. This allowed Cambodian civilians—including the wives and children of Cambodian soldiers—to enter, build houses and shops, and settle in line with Mr. Hun Sen’s policy of granting land to Cambodian soldiers and citizens wherever they could encroach on Thai territory.
This is why Cambodians were able to build houses and shops right next to the Thai soldiers’ residences, as is evident today.
