ลูกรัก เจ้าจักสำคัญความนี้เป็นไฉน ? (ตอนที่ ๑๓)

มหานรกขุมใหญ่สุดทั้ง ๘ ขุม เราท่านทั้งหลายได้ทำความรู้จักกันไปในเบื้องต้นแล้ว
ครานี้ลูกก็ลองมาทำความรู้จักนรกบริวารของมหาสัญชีวนรกบริวารขุมที่ ๕ นี้ชื่อว่า โลหกุมภีนรก
โลหกุมภีนรก หมายถึง นรกหม้อไฟหรือโบราณาจารย์ท่านเรียกว่า นรกหม้อทองแดง เหตุเพราะ นรกขุมนี้มีลักษณะเป็นหม้อดิน พื้นที่ภายในหม้อทองแดงใบนี้ มีพื้นที่กว้างขวางใหญ่โต
ภายในหม้อทองแดงก็เต็มไปด้วยน้ำทองแดงที่เดือดพลุ่งพล่านร้อนแรง แดงฉาน ที่ตั้งอยู่ท่ามกลางทะเลทรายอันเร่าร้อน แต่หมู่สัตว์ผู้มาเกิดในนรกขุมนี้กลับมองเห็นเป็นหม้อน้ำและอาหารขนาดใหญ่
หมู่สัตว์นรกเหล่านั้นจึงวิ่งตรงกันเข้าไปใช้ถ้วยชามที่วางอยู่เกลื่อนกลาดรอบๆ หม้อนั้นตักน้ำและอาหารยกขึ้นดื่มกิน ตามที่ตาของตนมองเห็น
เรียกว่า หากสัตว์ตนใดหิวน้ำ สิ่งที่เห็นมีอยู่ในหม้อทองแดงใบนั้นก็จะปรากฎเป็นน้ำดังที่สัตว์ตนนั้นมองเห็น
และหากสัตว์ตนใดหิวอาหาร สิ่งที่สัตว์ตนนั้นมองเห็นก็จะปรากฎเป็นอาหารมีอยู่ในหม้อ
แต่ไม่ว่าจะเห็นเป็นน้ำหรือเห็นเป็นอาหาร เมื่อสัตว์เหล่านั้นดื่มกินเข้าไปในช่องปาก มันคือน้ำทองแดงที่เดือดพล่าน ร้อนแรง ลวกเผาผลาญช่องปากที่เป็นเนื้อเป็นหนัง เหลือแต่โครงกระดูกขาวโพลนไปทั่วร่างกาย
สัตว์เหล่านั้นต้องได้รับความทุกข์ยากทรมานทุกขณะที่น้ำทองแดงนั้นไหลผ่านเข้าไปในร่างกาย จนล้มตายลง แล้วก็กลับไปเกิดอยู่ท่ามกลางทะเลทรายอันเร่าร้อนเช่นเดิม ออกเดินโซซัดโซเซหาน้ำและอาหาร จนมาเจอหม้อน้ำอาหารตามที่ตนเองมองเห็นจึงวิ่งเข้าไปด้วยมุ่งหวังว่า ตนจักได้ดื่มน้ำกินอาหาร แต่บริเวณโดยรอบหม้อทองแดงก็หนาแน่นไปด้วยหมู่สัตว์นรกที่พยายามยื้อแย่งกัน เพื่อจักให้ตนได้เข้าไปใกล้หม้อทองแดงนั้น
แล้วยื้อแย่งถ้วยชามที่ตกทิ้งอยู่โดยรอบหม้อ พร้อมทั้งจ้วงตักน้ำและอาหารในหม้อทองแดงนั้น ตามที่ตาของตนมองเห็น
เมื่อแย่งกันตักน้ำและอาหารที่ตนมองเห็น ดื่มกินเข้าไป น้ำและอาหารที่แท้เป็นน้ำทองแดงก็เผาทำลายเนื้อหนังในทุกขณะที่น้ำทองแดงไหลผ่าน เหลือไว้แต่โครงกระดูก
สัตว์เหล่านั้นได้รับทุกขเวทนาอย่างแสนสาหัสจนร่างกายเหลือแต่กระดูกแล้วก็ล้มตายลง
เป็นอยู่เช่นนี้ซ้ำๆ กัน จนกว่าจะหมดสิ้นกรรมชั่วหยาบ
หากจะถามว่า แล้วหมู่สัตว์เหล่านี้ทำกรรมผิดชั่วบาปอันใดกระนั้นหรือ
วิสัชนาว่า ด้วยเพราะสัตว์เหล่านั้นขณะเกิดในภพชาติก่อนๆ ได้ทำกรรมชั่วผิดบาปด้วยการเบียดเบียน รุกไล่ ทุบตีแก่ท่านผู้มีทาน มีศีล มีธรรม และเหล่าสมณะ ชี พราหมณ์ผู้ทรงไตรสิกขา
ไม่ว่าการกระทำนั้นจะมีอันตรายถึงชีวิตหรือแค่ฟกช้ำ เลือดตกยางออก หรือกระทำกิริยาอาการและวาจา เหยียดหยามดูหมิ่น ไม่ว่าท่านผู้ทรงศีล ทรงธรรม ทรงทาน ทรงภูมิเหล่านั้นจักรู้สึกขุ่นเคือง ไม่พอใจหรือไม่ก็ตาม
สัตว์ผู้ทำกรรมผิดชั่วบาปเหล่านั้น ก็หนีไม่พ้นโทษทัณฑกรรมของโลหกุมภีนรกขุมนี้ ไม่ได้เด็ดขาด
คาถาที่สามารถป้องกันโลหกุมภีนรกคือ ความอ่อนน้อมถ่อมตน
คารวะทั้ง ๖ คือ
สัตถุคารวตา (ความเคารพในพระศาสดา/พระพุทธเจ้า)
ธัมมคารวตา (ความเคารพในพระธรรม)
สังฆคารวตา (ความเคารพในพระสงฆ์)
สิกขาคารวตา (ความเคารพในการศึกษา)
อัปปมาทคารวตา (ความเคารพในความไม่ประมาท)
ปฏิสันถารคารวตา (ความเคารพในปฏิสันถาร)
หิริ ความละอายชั่ว
โอตตัปปะ ความเกรงกลัวต่อบาป
ด้วยคุณธรรมดังกล่าวเหล่านี้ หากสามารถปฏิบัติได้อย่างเสมอต้นเสมอปลาย จึงจะสามารถป้องกันโลหกุมภีนรกนี้ได้อย่างแท้จริง

This time, let us learn about the fifth satellite hell, called Lohakumbhi Hell, which surrounds the Major Sanjiva Hell.
Lohakumbhi Hell means “Fire Pot Hell,” or as the ancient masters called it, “Copper Pot Hell,” because it is shaped like a large clay pot. The space inside this copper pot is vast. It is filled with boiling, fiery red copper water and located in a scorching desert.
Yet, the beings born in this hell perceive it as a giant vessel filled with water and food. They run toward it and, using the scattered bowls and cups, scoop up what they believe to be nourishment and drink it as they see it.
That is, if a being is thirsty, what they perceive in the copper pot will appear as water. If a being is hungry, what they see will appear as food.
But whether they see water or food, as soon as they drink or eat it, the searing copper water burns their mouths, leaving only white bones in place of flesh.
These beings suffer torment with every flow of the fiery copper liquid through their bodies, until they die and are reborn again in the scorching desert.
They stagger about searching for water and food until they once more find the vessel they previously saw.
They rush toward it in hope of quenching their thirst or easing their hunger.
But the area around the copper pot is packed with desperate hell-beings competing to get closer.
They seize the discarded bowls and cups, scooping up what appears as water or food from the pot.
Yet again, as they drink or eat what they perceive, the molten copper burns through flesh and bone alike. Their bodies dissolve into skeletons under excruciating pain, until they die—Only for this torment to repeat, until all their gross evil karma is exhausted.
What kind of evil deeds have these beings committed?
In previous lives, they assaulted, attacked, or beat those who were generous, moral, or righteous—including monks, nuns, and brahmins who practiced morality, concentration, and wisdom.
Whether their actions were life-threatening, or caused bruises or bleeding, or whether the harm was done through words of insult or contempt, if virtuous, moral, generous, or noble people were made to feel harmed or offended, those who committed such evil absolutely cannot escape the punishment of Lohakumbhi Hell.
The protective mantra against Lohakumbhi Hell is humility.
The six types of reverence are :
Satthukāravatā – respect for the Buddha
Dhammakāravatā – respect for the Dhamma
Sanghakāravatā – respect for the Sangha
Sikkhakāravatā – respect for learning and discipline
Appāmādakāravatā – respect for heedfulness
Patisanthārāvatā – respect in greeting and hospitality
Additionally, Hiri (a sense of shame for wrongdoing) and Ottappa (a fear of evil) are virtues that, when practiced diligently, can truly protect one from Lohakumbhi Hell.
