เราท่านทั้งหลายได้เดินทางมาถึงกาลแห่งความเสื่อมกันแล้วหรือ (ตอนที่ ๘)

คุณพระแว่นท่านได้ส่งความฝัน ๑๖ ข้อ ของพระเจ้าปเสนทิโกศลมาให้ได้อ่าน อ่านแล้วก็อดไม่ได้ที่จะนำมาใคร่ครวญดูว่ามีความฝันใดบ้างที่ตรงกับยุคปัจจุบัน
เราท่านทั้งหลายก็ลองมาตามดูและพิจารณาร่วมกันนะจ๊ะ
ครั้งเมื่อพระราชาปเสนทิโกศล ทรงสดับพระพุทธฎีกาตรัสอธิบายความนัยแห่งพระสุบินนิมิตในข้อที่ ๗ จนเข้าพระทัยกระจ่างแจ้ง ราชาปเสนทิโกศลจึงทรงตรัสเล่าถึงพระสุบินนิมิตข้อที่ ๘ ความว่า
ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ หม่อมฉันสุบินนิมิตเห็น ตุ่มน้ำมีน้ำเต็มเปี่ยมลูกใหญ่ลูกหนึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่ประตูพระราชวัง แต่ห้อมล้อมไปด้วยตุ่มเปล่าอยู่เป็นจำนวนมาก
มหาชนทุกชนชั้นพากันถือหม้อตักน้ำมาจากทิศทั้ง ๔ เทใส่ตุ่มที่มีน้ำเต็มอยู่แล้ว น้ำนั้นจึงได้ไหลล้นออกจากตุ่ม ถึงกระนั้นมหาชนเหล่านั้นก็ยังตักน้ำมาเทใส่อยู่แต่ในตุ่มน้ำลูกนั้นอยู่เช่นนี้ซ้ำๆ โดยมิได้มีผู้ใดเหลียวแลตุ่มที่ว่างเปล่าลูกอื่นๆ ที่ตั้งอยู่รายล้อมรอบๆ ตุ่มน้ำล้นนั้นเลย
สุบินนิมิตดังกล่าวมานี้ จักมีอันตรายถึงชีวิตและราชบัลลังก์ของข้าพระองค์หรือไม่พระพุทธเจ้าข้า
องค์สมเด็จพระบรมศาสดาครั้งเมื่อได้ทรงสดับพระสุบินนิมิตข้อที่ ๘ ของราชาปเสนทิโกศลนั้นแล้ว จึงทรงมีพุทธดำรัสตรัสอธิบายความนัยของพระสุบินข้อนี้ไปว่า
มหาบพิตร พระสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้หาได้มีอันตรายต่อพระชนม์ชีพและราชบัลลังก์ของพระองค์แต่อย่างใดไม่ แต่จักเป็นเหตุการณ์ที่บังเกิดในกาลข้างหน้า เมื่อชาติบ้านเมืองหมดความสำคัญในความรู้สึกของประชาชน ด้วยเหตุเพราะโดนกดขี่ข่มเหง กลั่นแกล้ง รังแกจากผู้มีอำนาจ
พระราชาผู้เสื่อมจากศีลธรรมจักตกยาก จึงบังคับขู่เข็ญให้ผู้คนไปทำปศุสัตว์ เกษตรกรรม พาณิชกรรม อุตสาหกรรม และใช้แรงงานเยี่ยงทาส โดยประชาชนจักได้รับอาหารเป็นมื้อๆ เป็นค่าแรงงาน
ราชาผู้ละโมบนั้นจักบังคับใช้แรงงานจากประชาชนมาแสวงหาผลประโยชน์ให้แก่ตนเอง และพระประยูรญาติแต่อย่างเดียว ผู้มีอำนาจก็จักกระทำการเยี่ยงพระราชา
ดุจดังพระสุบินนิมิตของพระองค์ที่มหาชนพากันตักน้ำใส่แต่เฉพาะตุ่มเดียว โดยไม่เหลียวแลตุ่มน้ำที่ว่างลูกอื่นๆ
เมื่อพระราชาและผู้มีอำนาจเห็นแก่ประโยชน์ตนโดยไม่สนใจต่อประโยชน์ของประชาชน มหาชนในบ้านเมืองนั้นๆ จึงได้พากันละทิ้งบ้านเมืองนั้น
ถึงแม้จักอดทนยอมมีชีวิตอยู่ในบ้านเมืองนั้นโดยมิรู้ว่าจะไป ณ ที่ใด แต่ก็จักดำรงชีวิตอยู่อย่างซังกะตาย ไม่รักไม่เหลียวแล ไม่มีความภาคภูมิใจในบ้านเมืองของตน
เหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวนี้จักบังเกิดในกาลข้างหน้าหาได้มีอันตรายใดๆ ต่อพระชนม์ชีพและราชบัลลังก์ของพระองค์ไม่
เมื่อมหาบพิตรทรงสดับความนัยของพระสุบินนิมิตข้อที่ ๘ เข้าพระทัยกระจ่างดีแล้ว ขอทรงตรัสเล่าพระสุบินนิมิตในข้อที่ ๙ สืบไปเถิด

We have arrived at an era of decline. (Part 8)

Khun Phra Waen sent me the sixteen dreams of King Pasenadi Kosala. After reading them, I could not help pondering which dreams were relevant to the present era.
Let us learn and contemplate together.
Once King Pasenadi Kosala had heard the Buddha’s interpretation of his seventh dream, he told the Buddha about his eighth dream as follows:
O Blessed One, I dreamt of a large, full water jar standing at the palace gate, surrounded by many empty jars.
People of all classes brought pots of water from all four directions and poured water into the already full jar. The water then overflowed from the jar. Nevertheless, those people kept pouring water into that jar without looking at other surrounding empty jars.
O Blessed One, will this dream be dangerous to my life and throne?
When the Lord Buddha heard the eighth dream of King Pasenadi Kosala, he explained the meaning of this dream as follows:
My King, this dream is not harmful to your life or throne. It will occur in the future when the nation loses its importance in the people’s minds due to the oppression, bullying, and harassment by those in power.
A king who has lost his morality will be in misery and will force his people to do livestock, agriculture, commerce, industry, and slave labor, and the people will receive food for each meal as wages.
A greedy king will force his people and exploit their labor for the benefit of himself and his relatives only. Those in power will act like the king.
It is like your dream in which people scooped water into only one jar, not caring for other empty jars.
When the king and the powerful are selfish and disregard the well-being of the people, the people of that country will abandon that country.
Though some endure living in that country without knowing where to go, they will live in a hopeless state, with no love, care, or pride for their country.
Such an event will occur in the future and will not cause any danger to your life or your throne.
Once Your Majesty has clearly understood the meaning of the eighth dream, please tell me your ninth dream.
