เราท่านทั้งหลายได้เดินทางมาถึงกาลแห่งความเสื่อมกันแล้ว (ตอนที่ ๑)

คุณพระแว่นท่านได้ส่งความฝัน ๑๖ ข้อ ของพระเจ้าปเสนทิโกศลมาให้ได้อ่าน อ่านแล้วก็อดไม่ได้ที่จะนำมาใคร่ครวญดูว่ามีความฝันใดบ้างที่ตรงกับยุคปัจจุบัน
เราท่านทั้งหลายก็ลองมาตามดูและพิจารณาร่วมกันนะจ๊ะ
ราชาปเสนทิโกศล ทูลถามต่อองค์พระบรมศาสดาในความที่พระองค์ทรงมีพระสุบินนิมิตทั้ง ๑๖ ข้อดังต่อไปนี้ว่า
หม่อมฉันฝันว่า โคตัวผู้มีสีเหมือนดอกอัญชัน ๔ ตัว คิดว่าจะชนกัน ต่างวิ่งมาสู่ท้องพระลานหลวงจากทิศทั้ง ๔ มหาชนต่างก็พากันมามุงดูโคชนกัน แต่โคก็ไม่ชนกันสักที ได้แต่ขู่คำรามแล้วก็ถอยแยกย้ายกลับไป
องค์พระบรมศาสดา ทรงตรัสตอบแก้พระสุบินนิมิตนั้นว่า ดูกรมหาบพิตร ผลของความฝันนี้จะยังไม่เกิดในสมัยของพระองค์ และจะยังไม่เกิดในยุคที่ยังมีศาสนาของเรา แต่หากในอนาคตเมื่อโลก ถึงยุคเสื่อม ในเมื่อถึงยุคของพระราชากำพร้าผู้ครองราชย์โดยไม่มีธรรม กุศลกรรมมีน้อยลง อกุศลกรรมหนาแน่นขึ้น
กาลที่โลกเสื่อมจากศีลธรรมเช่นนี้ จะเกิดฝนแล้ง ข้าวกล้าจะเหี่ยวแห้ง หาอาหารได้ยาก แม้จะมีเมฆตั้งเค้ามาจากทิศทั้ง ๔ ดุจดังจักมีฝนตกลงมา พวกผู้หญิงต่างพากันรีบเก็บเสื้อผ้า พวกผู้ชายต่างพากันรีบเก็บพืชผลผลิตที่ตากผึ่งแดดเอาไว้ บางพวกก็พากันถือจอบ ถือเสียม เพื่อออกจากเรือนไป ทำคันกั้นน้ำเข้านา ท้องฟ้าที่ปกคลุมไปด้วยเมฆหนา มืดครึ้มมาทั้ง ๔ ทิศ พลันบังเกิดเสียงร้องกระหึ่มทำเหมือนฝนกำลังจะตกลงมาห่าใหญ่ แต่สุดท้ายก็บังเกิดลมสลาตันมาสกัดพัดนำพาเอาหมู่เมฆเหล่านั้นให้อันตรธานหายไปจนหมดสิ้น ดุจดังโคจะชนกัน แต่ก็ไม่ชน
พระสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้หามิได้มีอันตรายแก่มหาบพิตรแต่อย่างใดไม่ แต่จักเป็นเหตุที่จักเกิดขึ้นในภายภาคหน้า หาได้เป็นจริงดังคำทำนายของพวกพราหมณ์ทำนายให้มหาบพิตรทรงสดับไม่
เมื่อมหาบพิตรได้ทรงสดับการแก้พระสุบินข้อที่หนึ่งได้กระจ่างแล้ว ทรงตรัสเล่าถึงพระสุบินนิมิตข้อที่สองต่อไปเถิด

We have arrived at an era of decline.

Khun Phra Waen sent me the sixteen dreams of King Pasenadi Kosala. After reading them, I could not help pondering which dreams were relevant to the present era.
Let us learn and consider together.
King Pasenadi Kosala asked the Buddha about his sixteen dreams as follows:
I dreamt that four bulls with the skin color of a butterfly pea were about to fight each other. They ran into the royal court from the four directions. People gathered to watch the bulls fight, but they did not fight. They merely growled and retreated.
The Buddha answered, “Your Majesty, the outcomes of this dream will not yet occur during your reign and will not occur during the time of my religion. However, in the future, the world will decline during the time of an orphaned king who rules without Dharma, and meritorious deeds decrease, and evil deeds increase.
When the world deteriorates from morality, there will be drought, rice seedlings will wither, and food will be rare. Though clouds gather from all four directions as if it is about to rain, women rush to collect their clothes, men rush to gather crops dried under the sun, and some leave home carrying hoes and pickaxes to make embankments for blocking the water into the fields. The sky, covered with thick clouds, is dark and gloomy from all four directions. Suddenly, there is a rumbling sound, as if a heavy downpour is about to fall. Finally, a tornado blows away all the clouds, making them disappear like bulls fighting each other but not colliding.
This dream did not cause any danger to the King but will happen in the future. It will not become true as the Brahmins have predicted for you.
After hearing the Buddha’s interpretation of his first dream, the King asked the Buddha to continue interpreting his second dream.
