ลูกรัก เจ้าจักสำคัญความนี้เป็นไฉน ? (ตอนที่ ๕)

ครานี้นำใบสมัครเป็นสมาชิกของมหาโรรุวมหานรก มาให้ท่านทั้งหลายได้พิจารณาดูว่า สนใจจะสมัครเป็นสมาชิกของมหานรกขุมนี้กันบ้างหรือเปล่า
วันนี้พาท่านทั้งหลายไปเที่ยวชมมหาโรรุวมหานรก มหานรกที่เต็มไปด้วยเสียงร้องระงมครวญคราง เป็นนรกขุมที่ ๕ อยู่ถัดต่ำลงไปจากโรรุวมหานรก มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าโรรุวมหานรก
สัตว์นรกในมหานรกขุมนี้จักชื่นชอบส่งเสียงร้องด้วยความเจ็บปวดทุกข์ทรมาน เหตุเพราะถูกเปลวไฟนรกที่ร้อนแรงโดยไม่มีควันเผาไหม้อยู่ตลอด
มหานรกขุมนี้มีเอาไว้เป็นรางวัลแก่พวกที่ชอบ ดื่มสุรา ยาเมาชอบเสพสิ่งมึนเมาทั้งปวง
คนจำพวกนี้จักมีโอกาศไปเกิดในดอกบัวเหล็ก มีกลีบคมดังมีดโกน ทั้งยังร้อนแรงแดงฉานไปด้วยไฟนรก ที่ลุกโพลงอยู่ในดอกบัวเป็นเนืองนิตย์ เพื่อจักเผาไหม้สัตว์นรกซึ่งอยู่ในดอกบัวนั้น ตั้งแต่ศีรษะจรดพื้นเท้า เปลวไฟแลบเข้าทวารทั้ง ๙ เผาไหม้ทั้งข้างในและข้างนอก
เมื่อสัตว์เหล่านั้นได้รับความทุกข์ทรมานจากไฟกรดที่กำลังเผาไหม้ ก็พยายามหนีออกมาจากดอกบัวเหล็ก ที่มีกลีบคมกริบดังมีดโกน แต่จักถูกนายนิรยบาลถือกระบองเหล็กอันมีไฟลุกโชน ตีกระหน่ำลงบนศีรษะซ้ำเข้าไปอีกจนแตกยับ ถึงขนาดนี้แล้วก็ยังไม่ตาย ด้วยอำนาจของกรรมทำให้มีชีวิตได้รับทุกข์ต่อไป จนกว่าจะหมดอายุขัยไปจากนรกขุมนี้
เรียกว่า เป็นนรกขุมที่มีเอาไว้เป็นรางวัลแก่คนขาดสติจากการเสพเครื่องมึนเมาทั้งปวง
วันหนึ่งคืนหนึ่งในมหานรกขุมนี้ เทียบกับเวลาในมนุษยโลกเท่ากับ ๒,๓๐๔ ล้านปี สัตว์นรกขุมนี้ไม่ว่าจะถูกทุบตี ไฟเผาทุกข์ทรมานขนาดไหนก็จักไม่มีวันตาย จนกว่าจะหมดกรรม
คาถาวิเศษที่ป้องกันมหาโรรุวนรกขุมนี้ได้คือ มหาสติปัฏฐาน ๔ โดยเฉพาะในข้อ อิริยาบถปัพพะ และ สัมปชัญญะปัพพะ

This time, I have brought you an application for membership in Maharoruva Hell for your consideration. Who among you is interested in joining?
Today, I shall take you on a journey of Maharoruva Hell— a realm resounding with ceaseless wailing and lamentation. It is the fifth level of hell, situated below Roruva Hell, and is larger than Roruva Hell.
The hell-beings here constantly scream in agony due to the burning flames and scorching heat of this infernal realm.
This hell is intended as a punishment for those who indulge in alcohol, drugs, and other intoxicants.
Such individuals are reborn within iron lotuses, whose petals are as sharp as a razor’s edge. The lotuses glow red from the unending hellfire that blazes within, consuming the beings both inside and out. The flames penetrate all nine orifices, burning them internally and externally.
When these hell creatures suffer from the burning acid fire, they attempt to escape from the iron lotuses whose petals are as sharp as razors. However, the hell wardens, armed with fiery iron clubs, repeatedly strike them on the head until their skulls are crushed. Yet even then, they do not die. By the power of their karma, they continue to live in agony until the span of their life in hell is complete, after which they are released.
This hell is the punishment for those who lose mindfulness through the consumption of intoxicants.
A single day and night in this great hell equals 2,304 million years in the human realm. No matter how much they are beaten, burned, or tortured, the beings in this hell will not die until their karma is entirely exhausted.
The sacred protection against rebirth in Maharoruva Hell lies in the practice of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness — especially mindfulness of bodily postures (iriyāpatha) and clear comprehension (sampajāna) in all physical actions and daily activities.
