เราท่านทั้งหลายได้เดินทางมาถึงกาลแห่งความเสื่อมกันแล้วหรือ (ตอนที่ ๑๓)

คุณพระแว่นท่านได้ส่งความฝัน ๑๖ ข้อ ของพระเจ้าปเสนทิโกศลมาให้ได้อ่าน อ่านแล้วก็อดไม่ได้ที่จะนำมาใคร่ครวญดูว่ามีความฝันใดบ้างที่ตรงกับยุคปัจจุบัน
เราท่านทั้งหลายก็ลองมาตามดูและพิจารณาร่วมกันนะจ๊ะ
ตอนที่แล้วหลังจากองค์พระบรมศาสดาทรงตรัสอธิบายความนัยของพระสุบินนิมิตในข้อที่ ๑๒ ถวายแก่ราชาปเสนทิโกศลทรงสดับจนเข้าพระทัยกระจ่างแจ้ง จึงทรงตรัสเตือนองค์ราชาปเสนทิโกศลให้เล่าพระสุบินนิมิตในข้อที่ ๑๓ สืบต่อไป
ราชาปเสนทิโกศล ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ข้าพระองค์ได้สุบินนิมิตไปว่า เห็นศิลาแท่งทึบก้อนใหญ่ขนาดเท่าเรือน ลอยน้ำได้เหมือนดังเรือ สุบินนิมิตเช่นนี้จักมีอันตรายต่อชีวิตและราชบัลลังก์ของข้าพระองค์หรือไม่พระเจ้าข้า
องค์พระบรมศาสดาทรงมีพุทธฎีกาตรัสอธิบายขยายความนัยของพระสุบินนิมิตข้อที่ ๑๓ นี้ความว่า
ดูกรมหาบพิตรพระสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้ของพระองค์หาได้มีอันตรายใดๆ ต่อพระชนม์ชีพและราชบัลลังก์ของพระองค์ไม่ แต่จักมีผลเกิดขึ้นในกาลข้างหน้า เมื่อราชาผู้ขาดเขลาหลงมัวเมาอยู่แต่อบายมุข ซ่องเสพเสวนาอยู่กับคนพาลที่เป็นนักเลงหญิง นักเลงเมรัย นักเลงการพนัน นักเลงเที่ยวกลางคืน นักเลงเที่ยวดูการเล่น นักเลงเกียจคร้านในการทำงาน ไม่คบค้าสมาคมกับพวกบัณฑิต
แล้วแต่งตั้งพวกคนพาลนักเลงดังกล่าวให้เข้ามารับงานราชกิจ จนสร้างความเดือดร้อนเสียหาย ให้แก่อาณาประชาราษฎร์และบ้านเมือง พอมีพวกปราชญ์ ราชบัณฑิต ผู้รู้ ทักท้วง ตักเตือน ทั้งราชาและข้าราชบริพารที่เป็นคนพาลนักเลงก็ไม่ใส่ใจ ไม่เชื่อต่อคำภาษิตตักเตือนเหล่านั้น
แต่กลับไปสนใจใส่ใจ เชื่อฟังต่อถ้อยคำทุภาษิตของพวกนักเลงเช่นนี้ก็จักตรงต่อพระสุบินนิมิตของมหาบพิตรที่ว่า ศิลาก้อนใหญ่ลอยได้ คือคำพูดของบัณฑิตไร้ความหมาย ฟังแล้วไม่ถูกใจ ไม่สนใจ จึงกลายเป็นความเลือนลอย
แต่คำพูดของพวกนักเลง คนพาล แม้จักไร้สาระหาประโยชน์มิได้ แต่ผู้ฟังชอบใจ ก็ดูมีน้ำหนัก น่าเชื่อถือ
มหาบพิตรเมื่อทรงทราบความนัยของสุบินนิมิตข้อนี้โดยกระจ่างแจ้งแล้ว โปรดทรงตรัสเล่าสุบินนิมิตในข้อต่อไปเถิด

We have arrived at an era of decline. (Part 13)

Khun Phra Waen sent me the sixteen dreams of King Pasenadi Kosala. After reading them, I could not help pondering which dreams were relevant to the present era.
Let us follow and consider together.
In the previous episode, after the Buddha explained the meaning of the twelfth dream to King Pasenadi Kosala, the King understood clearly. The Buddha then reminded the King to tell him his thirteenth dream.
In my dream, I saw a large solid stone, the size of a house, floating like a boat. Will this dream be a danger to my life and my throne?
The Buddha explained the meaning of the King’s thirteenth dream
as follows:
Look, Your Majesty, this dream does not threaten your life or throne. However, it will have a future impact when an ignorant king is infatuated with vices and associated with playboys, drinkers, gamblers, party animals, and lazy people who do not associate with scholars. Then, the king appoints those people to do royal affairs, causing trouble and damage to the country and the people. When wise men, scholars, and learned people warn and admonish them, the king and his ignorant courtiers neither pay attention nor believe in those warnings. Instead, they listen to the bad words of the ignorant. This is like Your Majesty’s dream of the floating large stone. This resembles a scholar’s words that people are not pleased with and not interested in, and becomes pointless. Listeners like the words of raves, even though they are useless. The words of the ignorant seem to have weight and are believable.
If Your Majesty clearly understands the meaning of this dream, please tell me your next dream.
